  • The library caters for children from 6 months to school age.
  • We have over 900 toys and constantly update our range.

Mission Statement

Our Toy Library was founded in 1990, it a fun-filled library with toys for kids! Our aim is to provide affordable access to high quality educational & creative toys which will encourage and enhance the physical, mental and creative potential of pre-school children. Our library is 100% member & volunteer operated, & we are proud of it! It is a service for the community run by the community.

Ownership & Management

We are a not-for-profit incorporated organisation owned by our members. Members are the lifeblood of our organisation.

The Committee

The Oakleigh Toy Library is run by a team of Volunteer Committee Members.

Committee members receive free silver toy library membership renewal and can borrow an extra green spot toy.

We’ve got a great team to help make the Oakleigh Toy Library the success it is today. Here is a link to the current committee members.

Each year the toy library applied for a grant to Monash Council.

Membership subscriptions provide the bulk of our income. To keep our subscription low, members also volunteer to attend 4 duty sessions to work in the toy library.

We rely on grants, fundraising and donations to replace toys and keep the toy library well stocked. We also hire party packs to members.

The Monash Council Community Grants give inkind assistance for Huntingdale hall hire and added funds for assistance.

Members help participate in our annual Bunnings BBQ fundraiser.

Local Businesses:

L.N.B. Electrics – Test and Tagging our Jumping Castle every 3 months

Grill’d – as part of their Local Matters jars

The money raised and the membership fees assist in paying for the toys maintenance, buying new toys and stationeries.

If you are a local business who would like to participate, please contact us.
